Studies on Saint Isaac The Syrian

During the last decades, interest in Saint Isaac the Syrian has increased both among academic, theological and monastic thinkers - in part due to discoveries of a large collection of previously unknown writings by St. Isaac. This has resulted in several new translations and studies on this saint from the Middle East - in particular by professor Sebastian Brock (Oxford University) and the Russian Orthodox bishop Hilarion Alfevey.

Several of the books on the Translations page contain valuable academic and theological studies on Saint Isaac. In particular, The Spiritual World of Isaac the Syrian by Bishop Hilarion Alfevey is a valuable reflection on the spirituality of St. Isaac.
